As i look onward, arms crossed, i seem deep in thought standing alone in the street or perhaps dark alley. no one is around me and probably because they can not get close to me as i wear sharp long rings and spokes coming out of my dress. they couldn't hug me if they tried and yet, i still wear it because i refuse to dress like everyone else and have the cookie cutter look. I am defiant in my look because i do not follow the norm. and yet, i have this certain glow, certain elegant look about me that perhaps, someone else will want to try. I am torn since i am so comitted to my fashion sense and so alone at the same time. that is how i interpret that phrase.

A Circus tent stands in the middle of a "city" landscape, holding inside the secret of a woman that dares to be different, a woman that believed in her vision so she made it happen, her name is Kalika Darkstone and her vision is ::...Warped Perception...::

A daring bold image for the daring avatar, that is what Kalika Darkstone creates for those that dare to be Warped, with a mixture of vibrant colors and dark looking fantastic clothing Kalika has managed to create what we she calls "Warped Perception"
We could talk about her craftsmanship when she maked clothes, the attention to every single small detail, how every piece becomes a non glitched clothing piece for an amazing price. With textures that go beyond the regular clothing "fabrics", from jeans with hand-made designs to fluffy dresses that captivate even the most picky buyer.
There was a time when Kalika dissappeared and only a few people got to buy her stuff, luckily for me... I was one of those people... getting hammered constantly for a LM to the place where I got my clothes, and almost everytime I had to tell them she no longer was on SL.
Kalika decided to come back to SL after a long period of time and ever since she did she started making those amazing, captivating, breath-taking clothes and skins.... she still rocks my socks off and I still go and get what she puts out.

A unique vision applied to her avatar has made of this girl a perfect addition to our staff, she knows what we want and wants what we need, she searches in the smallest places of SL and finds the most amazing stuff ever created on the grid.
Her love for tattoos and body piercings in combination with her unique style and kind of addiction for shopping has lead her to find the most outrageous yet fantastically combined outfits and overall avatar.
For Defiant.Elegance she will be doing a lot more than just blogging, she will show us her uniqueness through every feature piece she does.

Let's play "Get That Look in SL". TACKY STAR (owned by Aura Falta) .... Specifically, the skin line, "The Lolligaggers."
With elaborate facial and body designs in imaginative and fantastical expression, Aura Falta brings to her audience a line of skins that may leave you with visions of the sideshow "freaks" of old, but in a hauntingly beautiful style.
Her attention to detail and use of color is a superb example of her creativity and vision for unique skins in SL. While taking a look at each of the skins in this set, I find myself reflecting upon the Cirque de Soleil performances I was lucky enough to attend. Each design tells the story of a specific sort of character through Aura's use of makeup and her ability to emphasize just the right features to portray distinct qualities.
So if you're feeling the mood to step outside the box and into the ring, stop by Tacky Star and check out The Lolligaggers, as well as the rest of Aura's skins and eye sets. I doubt you'll leave without satisfying your "step right up, one-of-a-kind" desires.

I started walking towards the post with a scared look on my face, I could see the three ring circus in front of me, scared at my faith in front of this people, feeling their eyes burning my skin, the spotlight illuminates my face and suddenly all those burning eyes became a chill lonely tone playing in my ear.
I raised my hands, doing my presentation pose and took the first step up the rope ladder... it trembled beneath me and I could feel my fear feeling me up along my back, finally taking the last step up the platform, faking a smile as I face the spotlight on my face.
Taking my umbrella and opening it as I look at the rope in front of me, taking one big gulp and diving in with a first step.
In the middle of the rope I stand, alone and no safety net below... this is my time now, I am here all alone, not looking down on my destiny, with only one thing on my mind as I repeat softly to myself:
'I am going to be remembered for my defiant elegance when I am gone"
Taking those last steps and smiling at the spotlight as I hear for the very first time the sweet sound of the applause and the familiar tune of victory, softly whispering to myself:
"This is my time, My Defiant Elegance has arrived!"

Fashion is not something we can oversee on SL, fashion is how we live, there are different styles in fashion and this concept evolves according to who we are and what defines us, or what do we consider fashion.

Defiant.Elegance is not another simple blog like many others we have seen, our format is like a magazine, but instead of posting everything on one day, we do several features along the month.

We have photo spreads, we do interviews and we have a theme with a unique twist provided by our amazing defiant staff, which I will introduce along the month.

Defiant.Elegance is to be lived by, not simply looked at, we will all be able to find ourselves in it.
